How I’m Tackling Critically High Homocysteine Levels—Step by Step
I recently discovered that my homocysteine levels are dangerously high—higher than anything I’ve ever seen before. For context, healthy functional levels should be around 5–6 µmol/L. Mine is currently in the 60s. This isn’t just a red flag—it’s a siren. So I’m implementing a focused protocol to bring those levels down and protect my long-term health.

🔬 Step 1: Test Homocysteine Every 2 Weeks
Monitoring is key. I’ll test my homocysteine levels every two weeks until they stabilize.
- I’ll be issued three separate lab orders in advance.
- It’s critical to bring the correct, most current lab order each time—no reusing old ones.
- My goal is to get my homocysteine levels into the 5–6 µmol/L range.
🧬 Step 2: Address the Root Problem—Methylation
This is a methylation issue. My body isn’t processing homocysteine properly, which causes it to build up in the bloodstream. That puts me at risk for cardiovascular disease, inflammation, and more.
The solution? Support my methylation pathways with precision.
💊 Step 3: Start Methyl Charge+ (Advanced B Vitamin Formula)
To jumpstart methylation, I’m using Methyl Charge+, a nanoparticle-based B vitamin blend that offers superior absorption—essential for anyone dealing with B12 or folate absorption issues.
Dosing Schedule:
- Days 1–2: 1 pump in the morning
- Days 3–7: 1 pump AM + 1 pump PM
- Days 8–10: 1 pump AM, 1 pump PM, 1 pump early evening
- Days 11–13: 2 pumps AM, 1 pump PM, 1 pump evening
- Day 14+: 2 pumps, 3x/day (morning, afternoon, evening)
How to take it:
- Pump directly into the mouth
- Swish for 30 seconds before swallowing
- If it affects sleep, avoid the evening dose
⚡ Step 4: Add NAD+ Gold for Cellular Support
Next, I’m adding NAD+ Gold to support detoxification and mitochondrial function.
Dosing Plan:
- Start with 1 pump in the morning
- Work up to 1 pump, 3x/day
